Jairaj Singh is the Community Outreach Manager at APANO Communities United Fund. Jairaj grew up in a Punjabi-Sikh immigrant household in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Emory University. Mitigating the detrimental impacts that systems and designs of car-centric suburban sprawl are having, especially in communities of color, is what motivated Jairaj to obtain a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree at Portland State University. Jairaj is supporting APANO CUF’s mission by setting the foundations of placed-based community outreach and development work in Washington County, where currently the largest AAPI identified population reside in Oregon.

During his free time, Jairaj enjoys sipping on chai lattes, practicing meditation, hanging out with his cat, and taking naps.
