Policies Lifting Up All Our Families, 11:20 – 12:20pm

For too many of us, the ability to thrive and prosper remains just out of reach due to inequitable and seemingly insurmountable barriers. APANO is working in coalition with other social justice organizations to start breaking down these barriers and gaps in our economic, health, and social systems.  This panel discussion will highlight three issues that are currently being debated in the Oregon legislature: Basic Health Plan, Comprehensive Women’s Health, and Statewide Paid Sick Leave.  Together, we have the opportunity to create the policies that will move Oregon in the right direction to lift up all our families.

  • Kristina Narayan, Policy Associate, APANO (Basic Health Plan)
  • JoAnn Hardesty, President of NAACP Portland Chapter/BRAVE Coalition (Women’s Comprehensive Health)
  • Lili Hoag, Family Forward/Fair Shot Coalition (Paid Sick Leave)

Moderator: Jean Yamamoto, APANO Health Equity and Reform Team Chair
