Position: Pacific Islander Youth Intern
Reports to: Pacific Islander Youth Health Organizer
Duration + hours: 6 hours per week, September 20th 2021 – March 18th 2022
Position description: APANO is looking for two motivated and passionate Pasifika youth interns to enrich leadership, community engagement, and facilitation skills through. We will be prioritizing folx that are passionate about uplifting the voices and narratives of Pasifika people, and addressing the systemic challenges and unique needs of our communities. Ideally, interns will come prepared to practice vulnerability, resilience, and communication in a team setting. Interns will partner with APANO’s Pacific Islander Youth Health Organizer to develop sexual, mental, and emotional health curriculum, build programmatic infrastructure, and co-facilitate program implementation. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, interns will have limited in person obligations until January of 2022. Interns are expected to communicate and honor APANO missions and values, while also bringing unique and culturally versed perspectives to their work.
