APANO Vote 2014 Training on July 26
The November 2014 election is fast approaching! Come learn how Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are a political force in Portland, Oregon. Be part of the effort to increase voter participation and learn how it can make a real impact on the issues you care about, such as employment discrimination, immigration, economy, education, and health care.
Non-profit organizations and volunteers interested in increasing civic engagement will leave the training with real tools. At the Norman Y. Mineta Leadership Institute, participants will learn about effective voter mobilization and communications strategies, national and regional voting trends, engage in interactive workshops and contribute in local planning.
The goals of the training are to provide a framework for civic engagement and political organizing and provide participants with organizing tools to effectively build civic engagement programs in Asian American communities.
