2024 Cooling Portland Heat Response Program Now Accepting Applications
Due to extreme heat events in previous summers, the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) and community partners developed and designed a program to connect vulnerable low-income Portlanders with efficient portable heat pump/cooling devices, in alignment with Portland City Code Chapter 7.07 (i.e., PCEF Code). As a partner organization, APANO supports community members in applying for and receiving cooling units.
To qualify for this program, applicants must live in the City of Portland and have an income that is 60% or less of the area median income (AMI). One or more of the following must also be true:
- You are 60 years of age or older;
- You have medical conditions that increase your risk of heat-related illness; or
- You live alone or are an adult with a child/children.
Find more information about the program and apply online at bit.ly/coolingportland. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact program staff at goodgrowth@apano.org.
