Improving the Road to Coverage: Policy Recommendations for Enrollment Success
During the first Open Enrollment Period, APANO joined over 70 community-based organizations and Federally Qualified Health Centers in 22 states as part of a national network called Action for Health Justice (AHJ). AHJ reached out to, educated and assisted with enrollment to over 540,000 Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AA and NHPI) with enrollment in new, affordable health insurance plans and Medicaid during the first Open Enrollment Period. While the promise of coverage under the Affordable Care Act became a reality for many, it is still a dream for others.
Today, Action for Health Justice released a new report entitled Improving the Road to Coverage: Policy Recommendations for Enrollment Success. The report outlines some of the barriers to access and provides recommendations to build and improve outreach, education, and enrollment efforts for the future. Click here to read the full report.
We value our partnership with Cover Oregon and OHA, and welcome any future opportunities to discuss the report and its recommendations. We look forward to continuing to work with you to improve the next Open Enrollment Period for all consumers.
