Seeking Mentors for Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Institute

Dear All,
We are seeking volunteers to serve as Mentors for our Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Institute - a 6 month intensive leadership development and advocacy program organized by APANO and IRCO. Purpose of APICLI Mentoring
- Establish a safe and confidential space for personal growth and focusing of leadership interests
- Build racial justice analysis
- Contextualize participant training
- Strengthen a culture of action/reflection
- Increase access to network of API leaders, particularly in context of action project
Mentors are expected to meet one-on-one at least 3 times over a 6 month period. In conjunction with the Cohort Fellow retreats and the Community Action Projects, mentors round out the creation of a safe and supportive space for the API-CLI Fellows to gain leadership skills and increase their civic engagement and advocacy in Oregon.
Application Deadline and Submission
- Applications must be received by Friday, September 5, 2014
- The program year begins September 2014 and ends April 2015
Selection Criteria
- Experience in speaking out and/or building an API advocacy voice
- Experience in addressing racial and ethnic inequities
- Hold accountable relationships with an API community
- Value alliance building with/among other API communities and communities of color
