Position Title: Program Coordinator (Energy Savings and Workforce Development)

Reports To: Planning & Workforce Director

Duration: Regular Position

Hours: 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (40 hours/week) 

Compensation: $19.81-$22.30/hr depending on experience

About the Position:

APANO CUF is looking for a culturally responsive Program Coordinator to support new and existing community energy savings programs.  This  position will focus on program deliverables, community outreach and engagement, and all related-program support.

The successful candidate will have a range of opportunities to develop skills, knowledge, and confidence in working for social justice.  The Program Coordinator reports to the Workforce Planning Director. 

Position Responsibilities:

Program Coordination (60%)

  • Oversee various aspects of the energy savings program
  • Support residential contracting and energy efficiency projects
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with other organizations to connect resources to community members
  • Project management, coordination with contractors and community members to deliver impactful and effective programs
  • Responsible for reporting and data collection

Community outreach and engagement (20%)

  • Assist in outreach and engagement with community members and stakeholders for various projects 
  • Assist in recruiting and managing events, projects and focus groups
  • Assist in planning and implementing community events

Communications support (20%)

  • Collaborate with team and APANO CUF Communications team to develop online presence 
  • Support in managing social media handles, including content development and editing, blog publishing and general upkeep
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

The Program Coordinator will have:

  • Bachelor or Associate's degree or combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
  • Experience in managing projects
  • Enjoys meeting new people and participate in community engagement
  • Openness to learn about energy efficiency, conservation strategies and technologies
  • Excellent team player who is also capable of self direction
  • Experience using Google suite of products or similarly excel, word, email, etc.
  • Basic skills in creating visually appealing graphics for social media 
  • Ability to travel to different locations for events or work functions
  • Be able to work on evenings and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Deep commitment to and vision for APANO’s mission and strategic plan, including an understanding of the role of grassroots community organizing in social change and movement building.
  • Respect for and demonstrated experience working with Asian and Pacific Islander activists, and a deep understanding of issues affecting Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Asian Pacific Islander API language proficiency
  • Current driver's license and auto insurance
