Child Care Program
The APANO Child Care Program was created in 2023 to ensure that our community has access to affordable, safe, and high-quality child care that reflects our cultural diversity.

Child Care in Oregon
Oregon faces a shortage of licensed child care providers, with the number of children surpassing available resources. In Multnomah County, the most populous county in Oregon, only 34% of children have access to a child care seat. This is slightly above the 33% threshold used to designate a child care desert. However, every other county in Oregon is classified as a child care desert. There is an urgent need for more culturally relevant child care options.
The APANO Child Care Program was created to address this challenge, ensuring the community has access to affordable, safe, and high-quality child care that reflects its cultural diversity.
