Week 2: Submit permits
Week 6-8: Receive final permit
Week 9: Install solar system
Week 10: Final inspections
Week 11-12: Interconnection

Do I need to pay anything for a rooftop solar system with APANO?

No, there will be no upfront costs to you as the homeowner, unless you want more than 9 solar panels. Then you will be responsible for the cost of extra panels. A system inspection is recommended once every 10 years, and costs $225. Damage and repairs may cost money.

What are the benefits of getting a rooftop solar system with APANO?

There are many reasons to get roofop solar with us — here are just a few!

1. Save money long-term on utility bills starting on day 1! Estimated savings range from $674 to $1,304 per year for a 9-panel solar system.
2. This program is free for qualifying households because environemntal justice is also an economic justice issue. We want to prioritize low income families who can access information and resources to invest in green upgrades in their home.
3. Benefit from solar yearround! You get to receive credits from solar energy even in winter through the net metering program from Energy Trust of Oregon.
4. Access clean energy and mitigate climate change. We've seen heat waves and wildfires uproot many communities in Oregon. Getting rooftop solar for your home sets the example for other homeowners and local infrastructure to also invest in renewable energy.
5. Support minority-owned businesses! You'll be working with Justin from Upliftic Energy. This Korean owned business has over ten years of experience, and is a trusted local solar contractor. He very much cares about the famiies and home who will benefit from rooftop solar. You can even meet Justin and ask him questions at our upcoming info sessions.
6. You'll have a 10-year workmanship warranty! As well as a 12-year inverter manufacturer warranty!
7.  Minimal ongoing maintenance makes it convenient for you and your home.

Any downsides to getting rooftop solar?

Your savings often remain net positive, but they vary across seasons, with much lower utility bills during summer and similar-to-current bills during winter.

Any downsides to solar are about installation, and ongoing inspection and maintenance like any other home appliance.

During installation, power may need to be turned off for 2-4 hours each day. Construction on attic and roof will cause noise.

System inspection is recommended every ten years with a cost per site visit. Damage and repairs to system will cost money. Homeowners are responsible for keeping the array free of debris for high performance and to reduce pest risk.
