Why is Dual Language Immersion important for our community?

  • One of the best programs to help students learn English

  • Prepares them for college

  • Strengthens self-confidence and cultural identity

  • Increases job opportunities

Portland Public Schools, VNCO and APANO are committed to our children’s academic success. In order to better serve our “English Language Learning” students, PPS has agreed to start the first “Dual Language Immersion” program in Oregon where students will master English and Vietnamese. Students will learn both languages and apply them in reading, writing, science, and math.

Come to the Meeting to:

  • Learn how Dual Language Immersion works

  • Ask parents and teachers questions

  • Share your opinion

There will be a light dinner provided. Childcare and interpretation will be available, please RSVP or contact us by November 15th.
