Celebrate APA Heritage Month: Voices of Change May 29th

We invite you to celebrate with APANO on Wednesday May 29thfor Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The Voices of Change Celebration will be a gathering of 200+ community leaders and supporters for an afternoon and early evening of unique music, a sampling of Asian and Pacific Islander foods, and cultural performances. The event will be hosted at the MeKong Bistro Eternity Hall.

Asian Pacific Islanders (API) in America have roots that span the world. Their entrepreneurship and fortitude have helped build our country, from shaping the railroads and driving the economy through small business, to taking leadership for civil rights and serving in our United States Armed Forces. Asians and Pacific Islanders in Oregon have grown significantly over the last decade, and have a population of nearly 200,000 inclusive of those who are multiracial.

Although many API have achieved success, far too many still struggle to overcome the obstacles of unemployment, poverty, and language barriers or face significant education, economic, and health disparities.
